So let's begin!
I know, sometimes it seems as though the word "women" and "stressed-out" are inseparable. Do we take it on or is it just thrust upon us and we accept it? Well, if it is our lot to embrace the challenges of life, both the mighty and the small, it must also be our right to find peace and joy whenever and wherever we can.
Sure, our children bring us happiness, if we're lucky. Our spouses bring us peace, again, if we're lucky, but do we bring joy to ourselves? Yes, there may be the occasional over doing it with the Chardonnay or one too many Harvey Wallbangers (do people still drink those?) The crazy nights out with our girlfriends sharing a little too much information perhaps, or all alone, wrapped in our comfortable fleece robe, given to us by an ex-boyfriend, whom we've never gotten over, embedded in the couch with a pint of Haagen Daz and watching Netflix ( oooh, that is really close). Unfortunately, these remedies provide only temporary relief. The thinly veiled illusions of "joy, peace and contentment" evaporate with the dawning of a new day.
Let's look at the "Times" in which we are living today, 2013, the twenty-first century. We have so much more to overwhelm us than we, as women, ever had. Just the internet with its spam mail alone is enough to take stress to a completely different level of border-line crazy overload.
Take Time, my sisters of the Universe. Take Time, wrap it up in an embroidered, scented handkerchief, and tuck it inside your bosom, if you're luck enough to have one, and keep it still for a while. Hold your hand over where it is tucked and sooth its soul.
Let your heart pump against its softness and connect to its source. Feel your connection to the Time tucked away so closely to your heart and know that you, for that short while of Time, are in control of it and not the other way around. Calm it down with your breathing and your loving energy.
Don't let it rattle you even as it struggles to bust loose from the scented linen cloth so close to your chest. Assist, nay tame it to a slow, pulsating drone of rhythm and submission until it gives you peace.
Time is no one's fool, it knows when it is in the grip of a woman, it need not be afraid, it need not spew in anger, it needs only to relinquish, trust and give-in.
Time is not our enemy, but we must learn how to make it our friend.
